I have been a qualified Beauty therapist and lecturer for over 20 years. Although I have trained in and taught all aspects of Beauty I found my niche in nails and small treatments such as eyelash and brow treatments as well as tanning. I ran my own very successful mobile Beauty business for many years whilst completing my teaching degree and it wasn't long before I began my first teaching role at Accrington & Rossendale College moving on to Keighley College and Leeds City College where I spent over 10 years.
I have seen the nail industry grow from very basic treatments where the only options were short-lived nail polish and flimsy fibreglass nail extensions into a must have treatment for so many women and men! The options today are endless......strong nail extensions, an array of beautiful colours and glitters, 3D nail art and much more. Gel colours took the industry by storm and is still growing every day.
Eye teatments were simply brow shapes and lash tints and now you can have individual eyelash extensions, express lash extensions, lash lifts, brow extensions....the list goes on.
As a College Lecturer I have seen phases come and go and have developed course work to meet the ever changing industry. Although a challenge, teaching has given me so much satisfaction watching students gain knowledge, skills and experience they thought they could never achieve. They have won competitions for their work and been published in industry magazines with my help and guidance.
Slowly the FE education system began to change so I decided it was time to leave college education and do what I love and be hands on again with clients. I now have a small salon where I offer nail and eye treatments.
I have also begun offering private training courses. These are an ideal way for people to gain a qualification in a small, personal and friendly environment where they have plenty of one to one time with myself to develop their skills.
It would be lovely to see you as a client or student in the future.
